Partner of the month

The company's new mobile app gives clients the ability to now access live information from anywhere at any point in time. Where sales reps once had to write down an order at the customer site and input the data when back in the office, they can now complete the order via a tablet at the customer site and ensure that customer receives electronic confirmation of the order before they leave.

ELCB plans to develop additional mobile apps in the future to deliver greater value to their customers while achieving an edge over the competition

Progress Exchange conference

Keynote speaker Kerry Bailey, Senior Vice President, HP Cloud, Hewlett-Packard Company, spoke about how cloud helps drive innovation and develop unparalleled business applications, while other topics and workshops looked at how Progress partners and customers are innovating and tackling business challenges and opportunities.

The Progress Africa Making a difference conference

Delegates were treated to keynote addresses by Karen Padir, CTO of Progress; Mark Armstrong, VP and MD of Progress EMEA; Angela Peacock, chair of The People Development Team, and Justice Malala, political analyst and journalist.

Paying it forward

Recently Rakesh took part in a day out to Lory Park Zoo for the children of Kids Heaven (which was part of the schools curriculum). During the day Rakesh handed out educational packs at the end of the afternoon. Included in the pack are teaching lessons (at Kids Heaven) in simple accounting and management sessions. The aim of these sessions is to educate children for future development as well as inspire the children in taking control of their future.

What's more AIGS is one of the few companies registered with the United Nations Global Marketplace. By being registered with this organisation our business initiatives are recognised and supported by Sub-Saharan Africa (where Yellowfin is being marketed).

Teamwork

Race day kicked off with a spectacular Jozi weather and a new route for the cyclists – full support was given to the AIGS team with friends, family and colleagues at various check points along the route. JAM was supported by 26 people in the mountain bike race (held the week before) and 30 in the road race. The AIGS team alone raised almost R13 500 for this worthy cause.

New professional services division

The Professional Services team focus on modernisation, specifically OpenEdge, and AIGS will be working with Progress as a joint venture in this initiative. Our consultants will therefore be able to provide the highest level of expertise and access to the Progress methodology to ensure that all projects achieve the highest levels of success.

In addition, this new division of AIGS will be providing in-depth training across the Progress and Yellowfin product suites, offering hands-on instruction and guidance in making use of all the features and benefits offered.
