In a rapidly digitising, consumer driven market, business intelligence (BI) has shot up the priority lists of many CIOs. The emphasis is on delivering value to the business and getting real results out of IT spend in this area.
The findings of the recent, first ever ITWeb Brainstorm CIO Survey show that 57% of respondents will be investing in BI in the next 24 months, while 42% indicated they'd be spending on analytics. With less than 8% of CIOs planning to outsource their BI initiatives, and corporates keen to do more with less, the debate between what business wants and how IT delivers BI solutions that work is definitely hotting up.
The common thread will be the promotion of excellence between business and IT in BI – best practices when it comes to turning BI insights into business profits – and how to attain this. The expo that runs adjacent to the summit will be a valuable source of information on products and services from BI solutions providers.
