The IT and Business Community in Nambia were invited to join Yellowfin South Africa for the recent road show in Windhoek, at which they were introduced to our award-winning BI product, Yellowfin Business Intelligence as well as provide feedback on the recent Progress Exchange held in Orlando, USA.
At a time when the only constant in business is change, technology is helping companies of every size and in every industry keep up with – and stay ahead of – the needs of their customers. The truth is that businesses are on the lookout for ways to get more value out of their technology, and developments like mobility and Business Intelligence are more than just trends; they have transformed the way we do business.
Both businesses who are new to BI, and those that boast mature BI environments, sometimes battle to quantify the benefits that BI brings to the organisation. Reporting and analytics no doubt translate into improved insight for any business, which leads to better decision making. However, the challenge is how to constantly, and consistently turn the value of data into usable information.
Making sense of the rapid changes and increasing complexity in the businesses environment, along with the continued emphasis on the BI and analytics market, most recently through the introduction of new Big Data technologies, has spurred on a demand for analytics tools that simplify the collaborative process of making sense of increasing complex data-sets.
The road show included introductory presentation on Yellowfin BI, as well as an update on the latest developments from Progress, all focused on addressing these and other pressing matters in business and IT today. This will include topics such as the new features offered by Open Edge 11.5, as well as information on Progress' new products.
Progress's new appserver for developing and deploying next generation applications, the Progress Pacific Application Server (PAS) for OpenEdge utilises next generation technology to provide an enterprise-class web/application server that simplifies the task of creating, deploying and operating business applications, while the new Modulus offering allows developers to get to market faster, and enjoy greater flexibility, simplicity, and ease-of-use. Following its acquisition of Telerik, Progress has also announced the next evolution of the Telerik Platform offering, the only mobile development platform combining rich UI tools and cloud services to build compelling apps, regardless of operating system, device or technology.
During the breakfast AIGS presented these and other details around the latest news and product offerings from Yellowfin and Progress and a general update on AIGS in its role as their Sub-Saharan Africa distributor.
The road show was hosted at Safari Court hotel and conference venue on Tuesday 10 February from 09h00 - 11h00.
